Facebook has a culture of it’s own. Each FB group is unique to the individuals who belong to it and those who followed the Casey Anthony case on FB became not only unique – but in a different universe.
Friendships were made. Enemies were made. The roll went on 24 hours a day. Things were posted that were reported, people were banned and all the drama such entails.
These people got to know each other in very personal ways and began to believe they had a right to know every detail about every living thing – not just the Anthony family, each other – but to know everything about all of God’s Creation! LOL!! Some even believed they had a say so about what others in those groups did. Who they should like, who they should dislike.
The biggest single mistake made by a “group” of Facebookers was to think this blog is Facebook. It isn’t. The types of petty threats often made and tolerated within the Facebook groups didn’t fly here. Never will.
Threats were made in comments on this blog. Those who made them were called out. They got angry. Next they suffered the delusion they were more than Facebook status updaters – they were bloggers. LMAO!!
You are not bloggers. You are simplistic haters. You are not even complicated haters. You are ill informed. Lack abilities to interpret material properly or correctly. Down right stupid for the most part. You #FAIL.
To your anger I say tough shit!
Well said. The petty BS and such that goes on in FB doesnt really fly in the blogger world. Things that are said in small or even closed/private Facebook pages can bring a wrath of hell down on you blogging.
Take your shit back to your private pages or be prepared to be called out in blogs, and perhaps even suffer legal ramifications for such.
Just because you create a blog doesnt mean youre a blogger.
Facebook for the most part is a cesspool. Every crazy with a cause and every troll w/ a grudge is there. I now use mine for friends only. No more groups, pages, etc .. dont even look at them.. and I cant say I miss it. At all.
All that being said, Ive made some truly great friendships on Facebook through the group we had and we still speak regularly on the phone, etc to this day… and that is the good side of Facebook.
A Facebook example.
I set my FB on private. I use it to stay in contact with family members and close friends. I don’t understand why people would use FB to argue with each other.
I hate to say this but this hate that these people have needs to stop. These people bully others in a blog then they move to chat rooms to do the same and they use twitter and FB. When is it going to stop. Just because someone does not see things the same way as you do does not mean you should hate them. What ever happened to debating an issue? Maybe you might learn something and change your opinion.
Also, because someone does not have the same opinion, what gives them the right to stalk and bully that person? This checking into someone’s life needs to stop. This is one reason I do not use my real name on the internet anymore. I have had people check out my life and financial info. This is no one’s business but mine. No one on the internet knows what my life is like or what experiences I have had. They just post things that make someone look bad so that they themselves look good.
People on the internet are fake. They assume an identity so they can bully and hurt someone. I hate the internet anymore. I pick what I post on and stay away from those BS chat rooms.
Theyre fake until someone theyve pissed off or crossed decides to start talking.. and they do talk. A lot.
I’m sorry did that woman sign her threat with GRANDMA? Or was she calling the other person Grandma, and herself Cyborg? If you can’t publish a threat clearly, the chances anyone will read your blog are nil.
Who says “put your name in my mouth”? WTF kind of statement is THAT?
Well I am so glad (cough, cough) that he liked my comment. Actually It really was not what I wanted to say but my brain is overloaded from studying about parenting and some other psychology things so I really meant to say something else about FB.
To me FB should not be a place to be fighting with others. I am also tired of hearing people complain that others are getting their info off of there. If you don’t want people to see your personal info then set it to private. That way know one but those that you want will see your personal info.
Recently, one person who I will not mentioned was going on about why people do not use their real name as a screen name. The reason is that people do that for their own safety. If you read anything about the internet and what you should or shouldn’t do, the first thing you are told is not to use your name. Anyone can look up your info if they know who you are. If you use a screen name, people don’t know who you are and cannot find your private info.
This was one thing I learned from reading the blog called BeaconHell. Princess had excellent comments about what you should or should not do on the internet. A lot of people criticized her blog but it was one that had a lot of informational posts on there about what can happen to people on the internet.
Which is why I will never understand why it was okay for some TV talking head to put my real name out here but it wasn’t okay for me to lose my shit about it.
I watch people bitch and moan about their personal information being put on the Net by others, but when it came to my real name being outed by a Nancy Grace pseudo-celeb who went real world to sleuth information about me and my family no one gave a rat’s ass. In fact, they piled on!!
To this day the hypocrisy astounds me!
Michelle: You chose that life style, put yourself in the forefront and used your full name. As I remember you were very proud of the publicity at one time… It made you a very popular blogger to some and dang near news worthy.
Your use the word hypocrisy is indeed rich! Don’t blame Nancy for having a much broader audience than you.
I would have to respectfully disagree on some of this. Yes, putting yourself out there is one thing, Ive done it too. And yes, you expect to have a certain amount of people dislike you for this, because it goes contrary to their beliefs, etc. That is normal and expected. But.. to have a person who has never met you, knows nothing about you, dig into your family’s information, your friends information and your friends family’s information, LIE about it and violate them in the public’s eye for their own 15 minutes or as some perverse means of revenge against you, is not only sick, its criminal! Now you say, sue them, ignore it, let cops sort it out.. I say good luck with that because and until someone is physically injured or god forbid killed ..NOTHING is done past the cursory paperwork. You’re pretty much on your own when this takes place. Its not until you’re pulled down into the muck of these famewhores and criminals misdeeds do you or will you really understand. I hope you never have to get that first hand understanding.
Michelle may have put her name out there but that does not give anyone the right to do a background check on her or to contact members of her family. How did these people get a hold of this kind of info. I know Michelle never posted it. In other words, these people paid for info on a person. I feel this kind of stuff should be illegal. No one should be able to pay a fee to find out about a person that they want to harass. These background sites need to be closed down. They are just another source for some stalker or pedo to find info on someone they want to go after.
These people are even going as far as posting info about the children of the people they hate on the internet. Come on we live in a world where pedophiles monitor what is said on the internet. How would any of you feel if something would happen to one of those children whose name, address, school has been posted on the internet? These are the same people who post that they want to do something to stop child abuse. I bet you probably don’t care as long as you shut that person up. I know if something ever happens to my child because of someone’s post on the internet about them, They would never be posting on the internet again. I would make sure that person goes to jail for murder because they are just as guilty as the person that would do something to my child.
I have to say I agree with Radio and Holly. The internet has turned into a free for all for bully’s to get at people. We just had a teen suicide here because of bullying in school and on FB. http://ronkemp.blogspot.com/2012_08_15_archive.html
It’s so sad that people are pushed to the limit of taking their life.
I believe that if it comes to this point that the ones doing the bullying need to face charges related to the death of the person they were bullying!
I see it all the time on FB but it does go both ways. I have seen where the person being bullied turns the tables and does the exact same thing they are complaining about having happen to them?? But it will never stop, it’s too easy to type something about some one now instead of the “old school” where if you had a problem with some one you just threw down. Now it’s a word battle and words do hurt alot more than a black eye!
This is exactly why I have two profiles: a real one and a generic one I use when commenting an contentious news articles or other facebook groups of dubious origin. I lurked on a few of the Casey Anthony pages, and a large number of the posters on those pages are nuts -- patently crazy and overzealous. There’s no way I’d give any number of those unbalanced individuals access to my real life. I think most of the people on those pages use alias for the same reason.
Ha Ha Ha!! Now SBD/Shortbusdude/Shawnio/Tracy Roddy/Paco/Pat Dough is claiming I am him. What a mental midget. Yep I picked Gertie for my name cause I knew it would piss you off same with adding 69 to the end of it. I’m sure Radio (with out giving my location) can confirm that I am not in Clearwater nor am I anywhere near Florida. Oh and SBD, we also know YOU are not in Clearwater either. Nice try but you forgot one little thing. You have mentioned you moved quite some time ago and you also mentioned where you moved to. Funny how you never explained how it is you and all your alter egos type I comma name comma in ALL your blogs.
Speaking of footprints, you left some on that blog and every other blog you have ever owned. That will come out in due time I’m sure. Just going to let you hang yourself by your heart monitor cords for awhile longer before we drop that gem.
I have to admit I was never aware of this kind of stuff until I started to follow the Casey Anthony case, and became really appalled at the way the “real” media fed the insane hatred of the people who obsessed over the case on the internet. People like Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell fed their audience a steady diet of “Casey is a monster” and “Casey must die”, so that when the jury acquitted her it resulted in a psychotic meltdown among these people that persists to this day. I’ll admit I agreed with the verdict and thought the state’s case was a load of horseshit, but even if I believed she was guilty I would never have acted the way these people do. What’s the point of spending years obsessing over one dead child and her mother? I still don’t get it. Now we have George Zimmerman, and another even more dangerous lynch mob being spawned by the media. Eventually someone is going to get hurt or even killed, and people are going to take legal action.
