Do Trayvon Martin’s Parents stand with the New Black Panthers?

June 25, 2012 |  by  |  Blog, Opinion

So what will happen if the parents and Attorneys of Trayvon Martin get a verdict they are not happy with?    Will the parents stand up and denounce the New Black Panthers, or will they stand with them.  To date, they’ve done both.

NEW BLACK PANTHERS THREATEN THE TWIN LAKES COMMUNITY
The New Black Panthers in front of George Zimmerman’s Condominium community, not only putting him in danger, but endangering the safety of all the residents, including Brandy Green and her son Chad.  Sybrina and Tracy would surely not approve, especially after the violent way their son just died….would they?

Muhammad: Well, according to the street law, he has been charged with murder.

Cooper: According to the what?

Muhammad: We have 40—30,000 people out here today—according to street law, according to God’s law. Andy, I want to say I don’t obey the white man’s law, I don’t follow the American law. The American law—the American law does not protect me, Anderson. I’m not a citizen.

Anderson pointed out that even the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled them a hate group.

Separatist black group stands by bounty offer for man who killed Florida teen

Martin family attorney Daryl Parks echoed comments by others associated with the family, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson, condemning the apparent bounty offer. “We don’t condone those people whatsoever,” Parks said.
Speaking earlier Monday to city officials in a packed Sanford Civic Center, Trayvon’s father, Tracy Martin, said his family wanted to work through the legal system and spur changes in Sanford’s police department and Florida law.
“We’re not asking for an eye for an eye,” Tracy Martin said. “We’re asking for justice, justice, justice.”

And yet, the Martin family and Benjamin Crump were surrounded by the militant group at a rally for Trayvon Martin after the group put a bounty on George Zimmerman’s head:

It seems the Martins are so confident in the naivety of their followers, they blatantly show up to rallies surrounded by the very group they denounced.  Hard to know what they are sincere about.  One thing we DO know, they set out to persecute George Zimmerman from day one.  They have been relentless in their efforts to paint him as a monster, and their juvenile delinquent son as a saint.  Any blood that is shed due to a verdict the world doesn’t accept will be on their hands.  They know who Trayvon was and what he was capable of.
Meanwhile, they prepare for the Republican National Convention…

  1. It was 1962 and I found myself walking along a dirt road in a small town in North Carolina. I was visiting my aunt and uncle from a northern city, where I was born and raised. I was 12.

As I was walking along this peaceful rural road, surrounded by trees and sunshine, I rounded a corner and came upon a black family working in their vegetable garden. It was a beautiful garden and I stopped along the fence and told them how beautiful it was.

I remember the tableau of this family of 5, who were smiling at me, but obviously (even for 12) very uncomfortable. They stood very still and their smiles seemed frozen as they thanked me for my compliment.

I continued on to my aunt and uncles house, about 10 minutes away. When I got there, I was greeted by a concerned group of people who knew that I had stopped for a minute to talk to this family and warned me about the perils of associating with “negras”.

It wasn’t until many years later that I realized that family must have been scared to death when I innocently stopped to chat, and that I never considered that they may have paid some sort of consequence for talking to me.

It wasn’t until decades later that I learned my creepy uncle had been KKK, and that’s how they knew I had talked to that family.

If you think that type of racism still doesn’t exist, than you’re wrong. And until it’s gone, the reciprical group (Black Panthers) will exist.

If my son was gunned down and I was looking for justice, I would take help from anywhere it came from. I would be traumatized and scared.

I find your article to be offensive and your attitude to lack any type of empathy for Trayvon’s parents.

Natalie Holloway was the same age as Trayvon when she disappeared, and her mother has done everything she could to try to find justice for her daughter and doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks. I’m pretty sure Sabrina Fulton feels the same way.

  2. The new black panthers are no better than the KKK. Besides, most murders against black are by blacks, over 90%. The KKK had nothing on today’s black youth who are killing each other off -- what about ALL those mothers? Oh, wait, we don’t know who they are, they’re faceless unless a racist white is involved.

  3. Get some help.

    • Natalee Holloway was murdered. Trayvon Martin was killed by a man who was protecting himself. The Martins can’t face up to the fact their son was a criminal and are allowing themselves to be used by race hustlers like Sharpton and Crump.
